To better respond to the learning and educational needs of doctoral candidates and to promote equal opportunities, PhD candidates may undertake short-term (5–30 days) or long-term physical learning or traineeship mobility abroad. Recent graduates (“post-docs”) may also participate in short-term or long-term traineeship mobility abroad within 12 months after graduation, provided that they apply before the graduation date. Virtual mobility can also be combined with physical mobility.
Erasmus Short-Term Doctoral Traineeship Mobility
Applicants must be full-time PhD students enrolled in a higher education program at Aksaray University.
To be eligible for application, students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.50 out of 4.00. For first-semester PhD students who do not yet have a GPA, the graduation grade from their previous higher education level will be considered. For transfer students, the adjusted GPA after the transfer process will be taken into account.
Applicants are required to submit a valid language proficiency score. Exam results obtained within the last five years from YDS/e-YDS, YÖKDİL, or other exams recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) are accepted. Candidates must have a minimum score of 50. Students who have taken the Aksaray University Erasmus English Written Exam within the last two years may apply with those results.
In short-term traineeship mobility, the duration of the mobility must be between 5 and 30 days.
Language scores obtained within the last five years from YDS, YÖKDİL, or other international exams recognized by YÖK (e.g., TOEFL) with equivalent scores will be accepted as valid language proficiency documentation.
Students who have taken the Aksaray University Erasmus English Written Exam within the last two years may apply using that result.
Note: For international exams, the validity date indicated on the certificate will be taken into consideration.
Applicants for short-term traineeship mobility must submit a Letter of Intent (Confirmation Letter) and/or an Acceptance Letter. The documents must clearly indicate the duration of the mobility. The traineeship period must be a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days. The duration of the traineeship will be determined jointly by the student and the host institution.
About the Acceptance Letter for Traineeship Mobility:
Students selected to benefit from the program are responsible for finding their own traineeship placements. The Erasmus Office will provide necessary information and guidance regarding this process.
Students who meet the GPA and language proficiency requirements will be given time to find a host institution. Among those who submit an acceptance letter within the given timeframe, selection will be made based on the total Erasmus score, and the list of main and reserve candidates will be announced.
The host organization for the traineeship must be related to the student’s field of study and may include a university, public institution, NGO, foundation, or enterprise. As finding a traineeship placement is a time-consuming process, students are strongly advised to start searching for a host institution before the call for applications is announced.
Students selected as main (principal) candidates for the Traineeship Mobility cannot change their host institution unless there are force majeure circumstances. Changes in the start and end dates of the mobility can be made by submitting a petition and are subject to approval by the relevant committee.
For the acceptance letters submitted for Erasmus Traineeship Mobility, the Department/Graduate Program Chair may be asked to provide an opinion regarding the suitability of the host institution.
If a negative opinion is received, the student will be given additional time to submit a new acceptance letter from a host institution within the same country group.
